Maria Anderson, is a National Trainer, Key Note Speaker and Consultant on Ex-Offender Employment. With a Bachelors Degree in Criminology (Minor in Psychology), she has over 18 years experience working with the ex-offender population. 

She has provided staff training in 19 states, and is highly established as a nationally recognized subject matter expert on ex-offender employment.


Due to her knowledge and expertise, she is a seasoned peer reviewer evaluating Federal Second Chance Grant Applications for the
Bureau of Justice Assistance, National Institute of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and Office for Victims of Crime.

Maria is listed on the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) Technical Assistance Network Expert Directory.

As an advocate, she testified before the MN Supreme Court on behalf of ex-offenders who are experiencing collateral consequences.

She facilitated the National Institute of Corrections Offender Employment Specialist Training and has provided customized National Teleconference and Webinar Presentations.

Maria has developed and delivered customized state specific training to thousands of staff, to include: State, County and non-profit agencies; corrections, probation and parole, prison transition specialists; and chemical and mental health agencies. Her best practices and creative approaches have significantly increased employment outcomes.

A Certified Master Technical Instructor, she has authored published and delivered curriculum to thousands of ex-offenders to include:  incarcerated, paroled and probationary; males, females and juveniles. Her curriculum is used in programs and correctional facilities throughout the country.

Her ex-offender workshops reach out to clients in: Vocational Rehabilitation, Workforce Center Programs, Welfare To Work, Dislocated Workers, Veterans, Probation, Supported Housing, Public Schools, etc. 

Experienced in placement / re-entry, she is a consultant for Workforce Solutions, State Vocational Rehabilitation Services, Deaf and Hard of Hearing and State Services for the Blind. She works one on one with ex-offenders & staff in providing guidance and recommendations for training and employment options, discussing the criminal record, criminal justice issues, etc.
